BUS

BUS –Jeddah has public transportation buses, which run from 5:30 am to 11:30 pm daily. These buses are operated by the Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO), and act as the main public transportation system for resident of Jeddah, as well as other Arabian cities (such as Mecca, Riyadh, Damman and Medina). Standard bus fare is SR 2 (one way). Tickets can be purchased at the bus station or paid on the bus upon entry.

 

Note that the local SAPTCO buses look nothing like typical commuter buses that run within other major cities. The SAPTCO buses that run within Jeddah resemble tourist-friendly coach buses that typically take passengers from one city to another.

 

SAPTCO runs six (6) main bus routes in Jeddah. For example, Route 7 bus line goes from Bin Laden Mosque to Saudi Airlines; Route 8 runs from Bin Laden Mosque to Vegetable Circle and Security Force Hospital, etc. To view the bus route map, go to:
