Masjid Quba
Masjid Quba (Quba Mosque, Al Hijrah Road, Al Khatim, Medina 42318) – this is the 3rd of Medina’s holy mosques. It claims a special place among Muslim worshippers due to its importance in Islamic history, having been built in the first year of the Islamic calendar. Like other mosques, this one went through periodic renovations over the centuries – the most recent being in 1984 by the late King Fahd bin Abdulaziz. Nowadays, the mosque has an inner courtyard with several entrances, and a section reserved for women worshippers.
